Podium finishes for Long Island, Exuma and Nassau at the 2025 Sunfish Bahamas Jr Nationals

After 2 days of racing in beautiful Elizabeth Harbour in Georgetown, Exuma, it was Drake Knowles representing Mack Knowles Junior Sailing from Long Island who was crowned champion at the 2025 Sunfish Bahamas Junior National Championships. It's his second national trophy this year as he also won the title at the Optimist National Championship held in October in Nassau.

After the first day of racing, Emit Knowles representing Exuma Sailing Club was leading the Gold fleet and started the second day with a first place finish. Unfortunately, his worst race of the series (6th overall) would come in the last race, costing him the championship. Kahden Knowles, representing the Bahamas National Sailing School (BNSS) Nassau, finished 2 points behind Emit in 3rd place overall but with 2 first place finishes on the first day of racing.

The competitors were divided into Gold and Emerald fleets, although racing on the same course. Kai Harvey was crowned champion of the Emerald Fleet, followed by Eloise Amorello Bradley who was also top female finisher, both representing BNSS. Wylaan Braynen from Exuma finished 3rd overall in the Emerald Fleet.
