‘Best of the Best’ Regatta - December 4-7, 2025

Traditional wooden boat sloop sailing is more than just a sport in The Bahamas, it is a celebration of culture and heritage. Regattas are held throughout the year, hosted in multiple islands throughout the archipelago, culminating in the ‘Best of the Best’ in Nassau.

Races are held in several classes, from the smallest 12-foot-long E class sloops (originally designed for junior sailors but today an Open class) through to the magnificent 28-foot-long A Class sloops, which in windy conditions can have as many as 18 crew. The 4 classes are: Class-A (28 feet long), Class-B (21 feet long), Class-C (17 feet long) and Class-E (12 feet long).

All races are conducted under the ‘Sloop Sailing Rules of Racing’ (SSRR).
